Think Big 2020 Brain Injury in Georgia Conference January 31-February 1
January 31, 2020 - February 1, 2020
Please join us for Think BIG2020, a conference for healthcare professionals. It is presented by Shepherd Center and the Brain Injury Association of Georgia (BIAG). This conference will provide clinical tools that rehabilitation professionals can use to improve their care of individuals with brain injury – from acute care through the transition back to the community. The day will conclude with a panel of providers discussing long-term care topics, such as family/caregiver considerations and how to plan for long-term special needs and financial resources. Attendees will leave with new ideas and resources to understand the needs of people with brain injury and ways to support long-term success.
Friday January 31 – Saturday February 1, 2020
At the completion of the course, participants will be able to:
1. Identify three factors that impact recovery after brain injury.
2. Generate four strategies to create a therapeutic environment for people with brain injuries.
3. List three considerations in developing a person-centered treatment approach for survivors of brain injury.
4. Describe challenges and potential solutions for providing long-term care for survivors of brain injury and their caregivers.
Registration is now open and includes The BIG Connect: A Reception Showcasing Survivors and Solutions and the full day of education with CEU A Forward Vision for Unmasking Brain Injury Care. The poster submission portal has closed and conference registration closes January 20, 2020. Please see the attached brochure for the line-up of speakers, and feel free to share with others who may be interested.
