Any organization that does business in healthcare has increased risks related to protecting patient data. Given the wide adoption of electronic information systems and the proliferation of connected devices (IoT), the risk continues to rise. A recent report (Protenus Breach Barometer) noted a total of 4.4million patient records were compromised in 117 health data breaches just one quarter in 2018! Additionally, the healthcare data breach cost is around $408 per record which is the highest of any industry (Data Breach Report by Ponemon Institute and IBM). The cross-industry average is $148 per record. It’s obvious that cyber and data security is front and center for healthcare.
Our panel of experts will share insights and delve into real-world challenges and lessons learned. Key threats being faced by healthcare include ransomware, insider attacks, IoT attacks, supply chain attacks and others. The speakers will delve into their experiences and what strategies and tactics they employ in their organizations to protect and secure patient data.
