Featuring Guest Speaker Jesse Broocker, Partner, WEATHINGTON, LLC

This Program Qualifies for 1 Hour of ACHE Qualified Credit

About this Program
Have you ever said or written something and wish that you hadn’t? This webinar will encourage you to think twice and reconsider the best practices in documentation and communication. Through sharing trends in med-mal litigation and how to identify risky situations, you’ll be a pro in no time!

Join us for our virtual education event on February 24 as Jesse Broocker looks at documentation and communication legal issues. And earn 1 hour of ACHE Qualified Education Credit.

Our guest speaker, Jesse Broocker, will provide a multifaceted analysis of risk, exposure, and prevention regarding communication and documentation in the digital age. His presentation will seek first to educate those in the healthcare field about litigation trends and the pratfalls of sloppy or inconsiderate documentations and consultations.

Nearly everything someone does or says in real-time logs a “digital footprint” somewhere. What you say or write can be found based on digital audits. Often, healthcare providers are unaware they are “being recorded” so-to-speak, smoking guns are put to paper, admissions are made, etc.

This webinar seeks to educate participants on how to identify “risk” situations to ensure “feet are kept out of mouths” to not be used against us later. The presentation also looks at ways providers and hospital execs/admin staff can communicate internally (and more rarely externally) to either (1) ensure the substance of the communications are privileged/protected from discovery, and/or (2) say just enough (or as little as possible) to make them innocuous to someone reviewing down the line (say a plaintiff’s lawyer in a lawsuit).

The program ends with recommendations and best practices — a “how to” in what to say/chart in “risk situations” as defined in the presentation.
